A first aid certification is a credential you earn by completing a training course that teaches you how to provide immediate medical care to someone in crisis, covering conditions like cuts, burns, and breathing emergencies, as well as how to administer CPR and use an AED. This certification proves you have the skills to help during a medical emergency and is offered by organizations like us.

A First Aid Skills Session is a mandatory in-person component of certain first aid courses where students practice and are evaluated on their hands-on ability to perform essential first aid and CPR. During these sessions, a trained instructor guides participants through realistic scenarios, reinforces skills learned in an online or classroom portion, and ensures they can effectively use AEDs, manage bleeding, and handle other emergencies to earn a certification.

A first aid renewal is a process that allows someone with an expiring first aid certification to update their skills and knowledge, maintaining their certification for an additional period, typically two to three years, by taking a shorter refresher course or a recertification exam. This process ensures certified individuals stay current with updated first aid guidelines and techniques to provide effective emergency care.
